Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” West went to be with her Lord on September 24, 2020. She was born on June 7, 1949 in Evansville IN but moved to Missouri when she was 10. She attended Lindberg High School where she met the love of her life, Charles Francis West. They were married on March 16, 1968 and even though he preceded Betsy in death, her love for him never faltered.

She gave birth to her son, Dan West on February 17, 1977 who was her whole world.

Betsy moved to Oklahoma where she joined the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA). She was always active in any church she had joined. She was a very strong woman of faith and would share that with everyone she encountered. Betsy had a fierce sense of family & became the unofficial historian and story teller for the family.

Betsy was preceded in death by her husband Charlie, her father James Walker Whitehead, her brother John Walker Whitehead, her grandson Alex West, and her mother Mary Eustacia Tucker.

She is survived by her son Daniel Greg West & Becky of Nixa, MO. Her siblings, Patricia Ann Mosley & Ray of Linn Creek, MO, Charles Donald Whitehead & Mary of the Villages, FL, Nancy Jane Whitehead of Evansville, IN, Carole Jo Town & Dale of Jacksonville, NC, Penny Ann Morris & Ron of House Springs, MO, Steve Reichardt & Karen of St. Charles, MO, Kathy Curran & Tim of Ballwin, MO, Scott Whitehead & Margie of Fenton, MO. Her cousin Cathy Hesse & Tim of Evansville, IN. Nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Whitehead, Rene Dulle, Kathryn Mills, Christopher Buescher, Nathan Whitehead, Denise Orr Brown, Jennifer Finocchiaro. Grandchildren, Natalie and Nathan Williams.

Services will be handled by Herman H Lohmeyer funeral home of Springfield, MO. Visitation from 1-2pm with the memorial service from 2-3pm on Monday, September 28. The service will be recorded and will be able to be viewed from the funeral home website.
