Obituary for Luis Felipe Ocampo Venegas
On November 10, 2023, Luis “Wicho” Felipe Ocampo Venegas, passed away in the early morning. Luis, 27, of Springfield, MO & formerly Mexico City, MX is the son of Felipe Ocampo & Josefina Venegas. Luis also leaves a brother, Yamil, wife Mackenzie, & 5 year old son Antonio.
Luis was born in Mexico City & moved to Oklahoma in late childhood. His family then moved again a few years later to Springfield, Mo where he attended & graduated from Glendale High School. Luis accomplished many things after graduating high school including opening a restaurant, becoming a realtor, tending to horses, & running a construction company with his brother. When he started something, he gave it everything he had. He was dedicated to his jobs & often worked in several fields at the same time. He was always seeking to better himself & his family.
While Luis had many titles & nicknames, the most important to him, was “Dad”. Luis loved nothing more than being a father to his son Antonio. Everything he did was for his son & the life he wants for him. Often he would take his son to work with him. Together they rode horses and learned how to use tools & paint. He was even coaching his son’s sports teams at the YMCA, teaching him many skills and lessons he can use on and off the field. He also took Antonio out to eat with his friends & he got to know them as family. Everyone who knows Luis will attest that his top priority was his son, & they praise that he was an exceptional dad.
Everyone that he met, Luis left an impact on. He was always the life of the party & wanted everyone around him to have the most fun they possibly could & enjoy every moment, just like he did. He lived a life full of excitement & love & will be missed by all his family & many, many friends.
