Obituary for Loren Dale Martin

Loren Dale  Martin
Loren D. Martin, 76, of Nixa, Missouri, formerly of Springfield, Missouri passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, December 28, 2018, in Mercy Hospital, Springfield.

He was born June 7, 1942 in Springfield, Missouri to Floyd and Ona Martin. He was a graduate of Central High School in Springfield. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from January 1960 to June 1965. He was a 50+ year member of the IBEW Local 453 in Springfield and was employed by several Union Electric companies. Upon his retirement he was an employee of The Home Depot in the Electrical Department where he was well liked and often requested by his customers.

Loren was predeceased by his mother and father, and his wife Sandra J. Martin.

He is survived by his children, Kevin C. Martin (Christine) of Nixa, MO, Shawn D. Martin, Brian P. Martin (Connie Gravagna), and Quinn M. Martin of Springfield, MO, Annie L. Martin of New York, NY, and Sandy's children Edward D. Hussey of Springfield, MO, Christine A. Martin (Kevin) of Nixa, MO and Nancy K. Whitman Suriano Cutter of Braintree, MA.

He is also survived by his grandchildren SSgt Timothy L. Martin, USAF (Sarah), Croughton UK, Kyle S. Martin of Comstock Park MI, Alaric Martin, Reece Martin, Anne Gravagna, Quinn Martin, and Orion Martin of Springfield MO, Shelby Martin of Olathe KS, Erin Hussey (Rodrigo Calderon) of Averill Park NY, Colin Hussey (Xianan Sun) of Springfield MO, Todd Suriano, Jr., and Maeve Cutter of Braintree MA, and Alexandra Suriano of Sanford FL.

Loren's surviving great-grandchildren are Bentley Martin of Croughton UK, Ramona and Jack Martin of Springfield, MO, Liam and Logan Calderon of Averill Park NY, and William Hussey of Springfield, MO.

He is also survived by his brother Larry R. Martin (Barbara Jo) of Quitman AR, Half-sister Dolores Scott of Gatesville TX, and nephews in Texas and California.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St., Springfield, Missouri.

Funeral Service will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 4, 2019 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Resurrection Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
