Obituary for Lora Vee Schmitt
Lora Vee Schmitt, 62, Republic, passed away April 27, 2022 at her parents home while caring for her mother.
She was born April 17, 1960 in Quanah, Texas to Joyce and S.E. Scillian. At the age of seven her family moved to Springfield. She graduated from Burge School of Nursing and worked as an ICU nurse for Cox Health Systems. In 2005 she left nursing to be a full-time mother and she spent the last two years of her life caring for her mother.
Lora loved all animals from birds to injured cats or dogs to stray neighborhood kids. She loved growing flowers and plants.
She was preceded in death by her father. S.E. Scillian and her mother who died shortly after her.
Lora is survived by her husband Fritz, her children, Hannah and Micah; and her siblings Mark, Stephanie and Jon.
Visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00pm Thursday, May 5th, 2022 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street in Springfield, Missouri.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00am Friday, May 6th, 2022 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens under the care and direction of the Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
