Obituary for Lloyd Alfred Smith

Lloyd A. Smith, 81 of Springfield passed away Friday April 11, 2014 in his home.
Lloyd was born November 2, 1932 in Los Angeles, California to Harry and Eunice (Crain) Smith.
He served in the US Air Force 4 years and attended San Diego State College 2years. For a few years, he was employed by a small financial company which merged with the Alessio Corporation. Eventually he was promoted to Vice President of finance and property management. After moving to Minneapolis in 1974, he was sales and service manager for Meyercord Corporation until retirement. Lloyd was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where he played the euphonium in the church orchestra. Lloyd was very interested in hunting and fishing and also enjoyed reading, gardening, making Indian Jewelry and woodworking.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Ardys; his son, Craig and his wife Kristen, his daughter, Mary; and his three grandchildren, Fletcher, Mercedes and Gavin, his sister, Julia Andrews and his niece, Meredith Rupe.
Memorial services with military honors will be at 2 p.m. Friday May 16, 2014 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery under the care of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home.
