Obituary for Linda Sue McCraw (Trimble)

Linda Sue McCraw was called home to be with her precious Lord and Savior on March 3, 2024 with her loving daughter, Heather Foltz, by her side. She was loved and doted on by her caretakers, staff and neighbors at Galena Nursing Center during her final two years of life.

Linda was born on April 14, 1952 to Nellie Mae Trimble (nee Lowery) and Robert Harold Trimble in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was the oldest, and possibly the orneriest, of the three sisters: Linda, Leslie, and Lisa. Linda is survived by her ex-husband, James McCraw; her daughter, Heather Foltz, and her husband, Kyle Foltz; her sister, Leslie Sharrer, and her husband, Dave Sharrer; her sister, Lisa Riley, and her husband, Garry Riley; her grandchildren, Anthony Moomaw, Gabrielle McCraw, Laurel Foltz, Collin Foltz and Olivia Foltz; as well as her nieces and nephews, Christopher Miller, Kimberly Carroll, Jessica Roesener, Jessica Miller, Jayme Boehm, Jordan Riley, Bonnie Fox, and Robert Sharrer. She was preceded in death by her baby brother, Robert; her father, Robert Trimble; her mother, Nellie Trimble; and her daughter, Jennifer Kelly McCraw.

Linda worked as a cardiac nurse at Cox and St. John’s before transitioning to hospice nursing and then as a nurse at a handful of nursing homes. She received her nursing education from Burge School of Nursing in Springfield, Missouri.

In her free time, Linda was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting, but probably her favorite pastime was thrifting and finding things that reminded her of her younger years in England or things that others might enjoy.

Linda was a very loving and loved woman. Everyone who met Linda received a sincere smile and became a quick friend, and she would hug anyone who would let her! And every dog that Linda met would be scratched, petted, and loved on for as long as possible! She was fun and witty and enjoyed being silly with friends and family. She was also a natural caretaker at heart, which made her a wonderful and forever nurse. She will be sorely missed here on this earth, but we are certain she is celebrating the reunion with her parents, her daughter, and those family and friends who have gone before, and meeting Jesus face to face in Heaven.

“Therefore you now have sorrow, but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you." John 16:12

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm on Friday evening, March 8, 2024 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street in Springfield, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday morning, March 9, 2024 in the Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home with Chaplain Dave Perry officiating. Burial will follow at McCraw Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
