Obituary for Lila Arlene Turner (Faris)
After 90 years of living a very fulfilled life, Lila Arlene Turner peacefully passed from this life to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 15, 2021.
From her marriage to Bill Howell in 1949 in Pittsfield, IL., she was blessed with 5 children, 2 having preceeded her in death: William Craig Howell and Terri Lynn Long. Surviving children are Timothy Phillip Howell, Susan Arlene Bueno and Sandra Marie Shaffer. Arlene has 14 grandchildren: Ciara Howell, Melissa Braile, Melinda Shawver, Megan Weigel, Phaedra Wilkinson, Curtiss Long, Timothy Long, Amanda Anderson, Jessica Stubbs, Tyler Bueno, Willie Forrester, Tony Dotson, Shanna Sims and Tiffany Morris. Arlene also has 20 great-grandchildren.
Arlene enjoyed her life as a mother and homemaker for several years in Springfield, MO before entering the work force. Throughout the years, she held positions in the Recorders Office at the Greene County Courthouse, the Department of Revenue and finally at Kraft Foods, a position from which she retired from the work force.
Arlene’s hobbies were homemaking, cooking, reading, dancing and playing Bridge with her friends.
Arlene’s life on this earth ended quietly at The Fremont Assisted Living home in Springfield, MO. She is greatly loved and missed by her family and loved ones.
Arlene was a donor for the Gift of Body program at the University of Colombia in Colombia, MO. At her request, there will be no memorial service. Donations in Arlene’s honor can be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.
