Obituary for Lester David West
On Saturday, February 20, 2021, at the age of 83, we lost a loving and special soul, Lester West of Independence, Missouri. He was born in Mountain View, Missouri on June 28, 1937 to Harrison Lester West and Elsie Brotherton Gimple.
Lester worked and retired as a diesel mechanic for Damon Pursell for over 35 years.
Lester is survived by his children, Pam Daniel (Ron) of Willard, MO, Karen Ziegler (James) of St. Louis, MO, Lester David West Jr. (Scott) of Atlanta, GA, Sherri Bay (Michael) of Willard, MO, Michelle Pastor (Tony) of Springfield, MO and stepson, Brad Dooley, of Independence, MO; mother of his children, Shirley West; brother of 18 siblings and survived by Bob West, Betty Schulz, Art Gimple, Henry Gimple, Jennie Bennett and Barbara West; 16 grandchildren, great grandfather, uncle and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce West; his daughter, Vickie Nolan; his daughter, Brenda Kerr; and his son, Richard West.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Pebble Creek Assembly of God: 23800 E. 51st Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64133. In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to Lewy Body Dementia Association at www.lbda.org
