Obituary for Larry William Gillette

Larry William Gillette, 82, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, April 24th, 2019.

He was born February 21, 1937, in Decatur, Illinois, the son of William and Fern (Andrews) Gillette.

Larry entered the Airforce in the summer of 1954. He served for eight years until the summer of 1962, in which he was honorably separated from the military. During his time of service, he married the love of his life, Connie Elaine Poole. Together they started a family. He was married to her for 42 years before she passed away in 2001.

Larry and Connie owned and operated the Ranch House Restaurant on Hwy 76 in Branson for many years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #587 in Branson, MO. He belonged to both Scottish and York Rites and was also a member of Abou Ben Adhem Shrine Mosque.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Gillette and Fern Gillette; his loving wife, Connie Gillette; and his brothers, Virgil Grotfeldt and Donny Grotfeldt .

Larry is survived by his daughter, Robin Gillette and Daughter-in-law Kristina Gillette; daughter, Debbie Goode, Haltom City, TX; sister, Karen Hernandez, south Texas; Sister-in-law, Debbie Grotfeldt; his two grandchildren, Allan and Christine; and numerous extended family and friends.


Graveside Service will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, May 2nd, 2019 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Road, Springfield, MO, 65804 , with Chaplain Glenn Hastings presiding over services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
