Obituary for Kayla Mae Jackson (Mitchell)

Kayla Mae Jackson passed away on April 24th, 2022, along with her baby boy Robin, in Springfield, MO surrounded by the ones she loves.

She was born in Springfield, MO on May 24th, 1987, to Gregory Allen Mitchell & Theresa Michell Knapp. She is survived by her loving Husband, Ricky, her 3 beautiful children Jaden -- 16, Alex -- 14, Bella -- 13, her 7 siblings Karissa, Greg, Kalsey, Nicki, Kerie (Bob), Chenel, Alexis (Lexi). Many cousins: Drake, Whitney, Kindra, Lindsey, Bailey, Aisha, CJ, Josh, Jonah, Riley, Sophia. Her nieces are going to miss their Aunt KK: Nova Lee and Vega June, an extended family who loved her like their own since they met her and her Parents Gregory Mitchell & Theresa.

Kayla was an outgoing and outspoken person and sometimes a little bitchy. She met her husband Ricky in elementary school while living in Sparta, MO. They did not reconnect until later in January 2011 in Republic, MO where they created memories of their life together. They joined “forces” of marriage on 10.29.2016 and shortly after they moved to Ash Grove, MO. Early this year Kayla found out she was pregnant with her and Ricky’s first child together. In April of 2022 they found out it was a Boy.

Kayla loved ANYTHING Disney, Twilight, Batman, or Harry Potter. Really once she liked something she would get hooked forever. She could and would sing all her music very loudly all the time everywhere. She loved holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas. Her Christmas tree stayed up until May one time so it would be up for her birthday. They even had a Star Wars wedding.

Kayla was a stay-at-home mom. She spent her time listening to music, spending time with her friends and family, playing with her nieces, loving her 3 kids and spending time with her loving husband. She had a big presence in all our lives, that we will forever miss.

She is proceeded in death by her beautiful baby who passed with her Robin Allan Jackson, stepsister Kimberly Heemstra, Aunt Shelly, Aunt Sherry, Uncle Ricky, Grandma Atha, Grandma Jeanie, Granny, Titi Claudia & Nani.

A Memorial Service for Kayla will be held at 6:00 pm, on Thursday, April 28th, 2022 at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home: 500 E. Walnut Street Springfield, MO 65806, with Pastor Jack presiding over services.
