Obituary for Kathrene Jeanette Ficken (Redelfs)
Our dear mother Kathrene Jeanette Ficken passed away on October 13, 2023 at the age of 93.
She told us she was going to sing in the Heavenly Choir for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Kathrene had been blessed with a beautiful soprano voice and had many awards in competition during her high school and college years. She also sang for many churches, weddings, and funerals. Kathrene moved to Springfield, MO after her husband, Floyd, passed away in 1994. She was an active member of the community, volunteering and continuing to use her musical talents.
Kathrene leaves behind two children, Theresa (Frank) Proud, Rodney V. Johnson III; two grandchildren, Patrice (Don) Hedrick, Frank W. Proud III; three great-grandchildren, Gracelyn Hedrick, Donnie Hedrick, and Cecelia Proud.
Kathrene was buried at Resurrection Cemetery in Springfield alongside her loving husband, and per her request, no services will be held.
