Obituary for Karen Sue Craig

Karen Sue Craig, age 67, passed away at her home in Republic, Missouri and went to be with the Lord in Heaven on March 2, 2024.

She was born on March 5, 1956, in Great Bend, Kansas, the daughter of James and Nellie Haines.

Karen was a piano player and had a beautiful singing voice. She was also an exceptional seamstress and had an associate degree in fashion design. She loved family, flowers, music and sewing. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She attended Sac River Cowboy Church in Springfield, Missouri.

Karen is survived in death by her husband, Timothy Robert Craig; her son, Kyle James Thomas and partner Rachael Jones; one sister, Kay Hicks and brother-in-law Elvin Hicks; In-laws; Mary Jane and Larry Bruffet, Mike Hollenbeck and Robbin Wilson, Steve Craig, David and Helen Craig, Jean and Jim McCabe. She had an abundance of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, James and Nellie Haines.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Road in Springfield, Missouri. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home of Springfield. Visitation will be from 1 pm to 3 pm Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in the funeral home.
