Obituary for Judith Jean Joyce Hoy

Judith Jean Joyce Hoy, age 82 years, 10 months and 12 days, passed away peacefully, at approximately 3:20 PM Saturday, 3/13/2021, surrounded by her husband, and their 5 children, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO.

She was born 5/1/1938 in Janesville, WI (Go Packers!) to Tom and Dorothy Joyce. After high school, she married David Everett Hoy. To them was born Deborah, David, Stephen, Daniel, Kathryn. They are a rambunctious bunch. The apples did not fall far from the tree from which they came.

She was happiest surrounded by family, ideally with a baby on her lap. She saw hope and promise in every life, new and old, alike. She lived love, unbridled, no strings attached. She loved to laugh, to cook, to gather with, and feed family. She especially loved decorating for Christmas, and holiday family gatherings. A devoted member of the universal Catholic Church, her faith taught her ‘All are Family’ in the eyes of God, and so she believed and lived. “Cead Mile Failte”, a hundred thousand welcomes.

She is preceded in death by her parents Tom and Dorothy, her father and mother in-law, Everett and Joyce Hoy, two brothers, Tom and John Joyce, and her sister Jean Bauer, and numerous extended family members. A glorious reunion occurred in heaven the day of her passing from this life to the next.

Judy is survived by, sister Andy, brother Jim, sister Dottie, numerous nieces and nephews, husband David, daughter Deborah J. Gasek (Jim Bonetti), son David T. Hoy (Monica Hoy), son Stephen Hoy (Mindy Hoy), son Daniel Hoy (Diane Hoy), daughter Kathryn Barth (Kris Barth).
