John Walter Shank, 69, Nixa, passed away on Monday, January 27th, 2020 in his home.
He was born in Peoria, IL on September 25th, 1950 to Robert and Margie Shank. He attended Central High School and served in the US Army. He retired from the United States Penitentiary. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and being with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Jo Macdonnell with her husband Jeremy; his grandson, Chase Miles; his brother Bob Shank with his wife Rhonda and their family, Steve and Kara Shank with Payton, Langley, Levi, and Boaz; Nathan and Kari Shank with Hannah, Samuel, Phoebe, and Levi; Christine and Philip Snyder with Josh, Abby and Ethan.
Funeral services will be at 9:00 am, Friday, January 31st, 2020 at the Springfield Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S Southwood Rd, Springfield, MO 65804 where Full Military Honors will be rendered.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri.
