Obituary for Joan Bean (Jones)
Joan Bean, age 94, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on July 16, 2021.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Bing and Matilda (Pilkington) Jones; husband, Andy Bean; daughter, Susan Beth Brown; two brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Ann Breuer; son, Mark Anthony Brown; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Joan was devoted to the Catholic faith. She was an active member of St. Agnes Cathedral and loved her many friends. She was a member of Seniors Unlimited, the Mail Crew, and the Prayer Line.
Joan worked for Cox Medical Center for 25 years and loved her job. She was a great cook and baker. I named her the “Cake Lady”, because every time they needed a cake at church, they called her. She loved Big Band music and dancing the Jitterbug. Those were happy times for her. The love of music and dancing kept her young through the years.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Cathedral on July 26, 2021, at 10:30 am. A Private Burial will be held at a later date at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Well of Life through St. Agnes Cathedral.
