Obituary for Jim Floyd Pope
Jim Floyd Pope, age 83 , passed away in Springfield Missouri on Tuesday, March 14th, 2023.
He was born May 12, 1939 in Thackerville, Oklahoma the son of John Murphy Pope and Elva Meurl (Lee) Pope.
Jim was a proud Navy Veteran serving as a Paracute Rigger Third Class retiring from the United States Armed Forces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy Pope; daughter, Qualyn Pope; brothers, John, Jack, Bob and Nim Pope; half brothers, Arlis, J.V., Roy and Eugene, and his half sister, Estella.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Heather Pope; grandson, Alan Swearingin; great granddaughter, Savannah; sister, Euna Mae; and a half sister, Kanita.
Graveside services for both Jim and Nancy, will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Road in Springfield, Missouri, with Full Military Honors for Jim.
