Obituary for Jeffrey Oldham

Jeffrey D. Oldham, 63, passed away Sunday April 7, 2024. After battling cancer, he passed peacefully in his sister and brother-in-law’s home with Christi by his side.

Jeff was born October 29, 1960, in Springfield, Missouri, to Charles and Roma Mae Oldham. He graduated from Central High School, Class of 1979 and was a talented athlete competing in football and wrestling. He furthered his education at Southwest Missouri State University (MSU) in Springfield.

He had many family and friends who he brought joy, smiles, laughter, and love. The loves of his life new him as “Grandpa Jeff”. He absolutely adored his four grandchildren and daughter and son-in-law. They became his entire world.

Jeff’s magic to restore a car or fix a fender bender was truly nothing less than perfection. It was not unusual to see his excellent work featured at a car show or in a hotrod magazine. He enjoyed sports, cars, motorcycles, golfing, racing, snow skiing, water skiing and of course his daily lunch with his wonderful buddies. His favorite places were Chadwick, Table Rock Lake, The Rocky Mountains and any golf course or racetrack. Most of all he loved watching his beautiful grandchildren grow and loved to spend as much time with them as possible. Jeff never met a stranger. He could certainly talk your leg off. He always had a joke to share with you that would make you laugh so hard your stomach muscles would hurt.

Jeff will be missed by many and remembered by all who knew him, whether as a son, sibling, friend or acquaintance. He had a heart of gold.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles Oldham.

Jeff is survived by his daughter, Katelyn (Troy) Malesky, grandchildren Gavin (9), Brynlee (8), Briella (6), and Ada (3); his best companion, Cash his black lab; mother, Roma Oldham; brothers, Jim (Cecilia) Oldham and Mike (Kathy) Oldham; sisters, Chery Croley, Christi (Thomas) Meyer; nieces and nephew, Kim Croley (Harold) Egelston, Campbell (Nicholas) Ferraro, Kiersten Meyer, Tatum Meyer, Nicholas Oldham.

There will be no services. A Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be held May 11, 2024 at 4672 East Farm Road 128, Springfield, Missouri 65802 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you would like to write a fond memory of Jeff on an index size card, please do so and bring it with you.
