Jay Samuel James, lovingly known as "J.J.", 73, was born on April 7, 1947, and left this earth on April 26, 2020. Jay was a longtime client of Preferred Healthcare, who became family to J.J. over the years. Rebecca, Walid, Anna, Roger, and Heather were very important caregivers to J.J. His roommate Chad was also very important to J.J.

J.J. enjoyed watching LIVE PD, watching the birds, listening to his Walkman, eating cheeseburgers and he loved his Cokes. J.J. also loved to joke around and tease with all of his caregivers.

J.J. was proceeded in death by his father, William James, and his mother, Clova Standler. J.J. is survived by his brother, Joe James, who lives in Mountain Grove, Missouri, and his longtime girlfriend, Mary Jane, of Springfield, Missouri.

A memorial visitation will be from 2 pm to 4 pm Thursday June 25, 2020 in HermanH. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. A memorial graveside service will be held at 11 am Friday June 26, 2020 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Phillip Wright officiating.
