Obituary for James "Mike" McGuire
James “Mike” McGuire, 73, of Springfield passed away Tuesday May 26, 2020 in Mercy Hospital Springfield, Missouri.
Mike was born December 23, 1946 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Marquis and Evelyn (Cook) McGuire. He attended Arkansas State University later served in the US Army in the Military Police Corps. Mike worked for Ozark Airlines for many years and later work for Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield until retirement. Mike enjoyed playing golf and being on the river.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ed McGuire. Mike is survived by his wife Mary; his nephew Mark & wife Tracia; his nieces Renee Cook & Nicole Novak; great nephews Jacob McGuire & wife Julia, Joe McGuire & wife Daiwa, and Josh McGuire; brothers-in-law Bud Wisehart & wife Cathy, and Chris Wisehart & wife Jacky; sister-in-law Sue McGuire and many other relatives and friends.
A memorial visitation will be held from 1pm to 3 pm Saturday June 6, 2020 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home. Private family burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Mike's memory may be made to The Humane Society 3161 W. Norton Road Springfield, MO 65803.
