Obituary for Jackie Woodrow West

Jackie (Jack) W. West, 64, Springfield, MO passed away at 1:30pm on Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Cox South Hospital.

He was born September 21, 1956 in Brevard, North Carolina to David W. West and Flora K. Praytor.

Jack married Janet Keithley on April 13, 2001.

Jack worked as a high-rise Chief Building Engineer for 35 years in Dallas, TX and Nashville, TN.

He grew up in the North Carolina Smoky Mountains and moved to Dallas when he was 16. One of Jack and Janet’s favorite past times was traveling. Some weekends they would get in the car and drive to wherever the road took them. He loved the mountains and snow.

His favorite time of the year was Christmas with all of the beautiful lights. He enjoyed traveling, was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and recently added the KC Chiefs to his favorites. Jack loved listening to music, singing along to classic country music and Elvis Presley’s Blue Christmas.

Jack’s greatest love was his family. He enjoyed spending time together, playing video games with the kids and late night talks. He was warm and welcoming to all who met him. He was as ornery as he was tall and was his own favorite comedian who loved to tease and joke with everyone.

Jack will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother David E. West; a sister Paulette W. McMinn.

He is survived by his wife, Janet Keithley; his daughters, Deana Stanley and Denise Elliott; two step daughters; Angela (Johnnie) Burgess (SC), Lori (Tori) Stellick (MN); five sisters; Linda W. (Paul) Pridmore, (FL), Gail W. Clifton (NC), Catherine W. Ball (NC), Beverly W. Davis (NC), Delza W. Healy (NC), 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
