Obituary for Jackie Dee Manuel

Jackie Dee Manuel, Sr ., age 66, of Springfield Missouri, passed away January 9, 2021, in his home at 10:00 am. Born in Springfield, Missouri the son of Homer and Lois Manuel on February 15, 1954.

Jackie is survived by his wife of 48 years, Beryel Manuel, of Springfield, Missouri; three sons, Wayne Manuel of Highlandville, Missouri, Jackie Manuel, Jr. of Springfield, Missouri, Keith Manuel of Neosho, Missouri; one brother, Ted Manuel of Walnut Grove, Missouri; one sister, Shirley Nicholson of Ash Grove, Missouri; one brother-in-law, J.B. Pendergraph of Walnut Grove; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several adopted grandchildren he felt were his own.

Proceeding him in death was his father, Homer Manuel; his mother, Lois Manuel of Walnut Grove; three brothers, Butch Manuel of Tulsa,Oklahoma, Tony Manuel of Walnut Grove, Benny Joe Manuel of Walnut Grove; three sisters, Bernidean Burnette of Republic, Missouri, Linda Pendergraph of Walnut Grove, Julie Darline Manuel of Morrisville, Missouri; as well as two grandchildren, Dylan, and Makayla Manuel.

Jackie was a stainless-steel fabricator in the Springfield area for almost 50 years. He loved spending time with his sidekick, his dog, Sophie Lynn Manuel. Jackie loved to hunt and fish in his spare time. He enjoyed his weekend dirt track races. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. He will be greatly loved and missed by everyone.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 3506 N. National Avenue, Springfield, Missouri with Pastor Gray Nordan officiating.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home in Springfield, Missouri.
