Obituary for Glenn Alvin Himes

Glenn A. Himes, 77, of Rogersville, passed away on Thursday, April 28th, 2022, in his home.

He was born on November 5th, 1944 in Enderlin, North Dakota to DundeeRae (Braem) Jacobs. He was later adopted by his stepfather, Lester Himes. He graduated from Alabama State with a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology in 1974.

Glenn and Joyce met in 1973, and married in 1975 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Glenn was a Veteran, enlisting in 1961 in the U.S. Navy, during the Vietnam War. He honorable serviced his country until 1965 as a photographer.

He worked at various employers until 1989 when he began to be Mr. Mom for his son. He enjoyed the stock market and trading coins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Beeman) Himes and his son, Bryan Himes

Glenn’s Celebration of Life was held at the Campbell United Methodist Church in Springfield, Missouri. The interment of Glenn’s cremains with full Military Honors will be 2:00 pm, Friday, July 1st, 2022 at Springfield National Cemetery: 1702 E Seminole St, Springfield, MO 65804.
