Obituary for Glenn Dallas "Chuck" Farrell, Jr.

Glenn "Chuck" D. Farrell Jr, 71, Battlefield, passed away on Sunday April 30, 2023 in Baxter Regional Health Hospital, Mountain Home, AR.

He was born January 11, 1952 in Danville, Virginia to Glenn D. and Sadie Louise (Wells) Farrell. Chuck joined the United States Navy in 1969 where he signed up for 6 years of active duty. After his ship the U.S.S. INDEPENDENCE spent more than 6 months on dry dock in 1972, he was granted an early discharge. He married the love of his life Jimmie Wall on December 15, 1972. After his stint in the Navy he drove a semi-truck for 15 years before pursuing a career as a Kansas Law Enforcement Officer beginning in 1983 in Ft. Scott, KS and ending his career in 2007 as the Chief of Police in La Cygne, KS. After retiring, Chuck moved to the Springfield, MO area where he began a career driving a school bus for the Springfield School District. Chuck retired after more than 10 years with the school district at the end of the school year 2021. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and playing his playstation and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother, Dennis Farrell and grandson, Michael R. Casida III.

He is survived by his sister, Debbie Oliveira; son, Glenn "Dale" Farrell III(April Green-Farrell); daughters, Nancy Leer, Cassandra Baird; granddaughters, Paxton Hutchison(Dustin), Cheyenne Bender(Steven), Katelyn Farrell, Eimile Hamilton, Dessie Baird; grandsons, Drayton Casida(Nikki), Keagen Ross, Kylehr Ross, and 16 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street, Springfield, MO. on Friday, May 5, 2023 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. with services to follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
