Obituary for Gladys J. Peppers-Dial (Nailor)

Gladys Jeanette (Nailor) Peppers Dial was born August 30, 1925, to Elizabeth and Mervin Nailor in Carlisle, Pennsylvania and passed away on May 18, 2022.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 17 brothers and sisters; first husband, James R. Peppers, and second husband, Joseph L. Dial, Sr.; stepson in law, Mark Schultz of Springfield, Missouri; stepdaughter, Judith (Dial) Williams of California; step granddaughter, Lisa Williams of California; and step great granddaughter, Celia Kifer of Springfield, Missouri.

Gladys is survived by stepchildren, Joe L. Dial, Jr. (Susan), Janice K. Schultz of Springfield, Missouri, and Stanley Williams of California; special nieces, Linda Conrad of Illinois, and Judy (Avery) Broyles of Springfield, Missouri; 8 step grandchildren; 16 step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Gladys was a devout Christian, loving wife, stepmother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved family gatherings and spending time with family and friends. Gladys was a meticulous homemaker with everything always in its place. She enjoyed working outdoors in her flower gardens and taking care of the yard. She loved making quilts, crocheting blankets, and creating beautiful Christmas wreaths and decorations. She was a great card player and enjoyed a good steak dinner. She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held from 8:00am-10:30am on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut Street in Springfield, Missouri.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday following the visitation at the funeral home with Father Tom Kiefer from St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
