Obituary for Elaine L. Bergan Pfeiffer
Elaine L. Pfeiffer, age 87, of Springfield, MO was called to heaven on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. She was born December 3, 1935 in Fayette, Iowa to Harold and Thelma Bergan.
She married William H. Pfeiffer on May 31st, 1953. Six children were born to this union. Elaine worked many jobs, but she would tell you serving her Lord and Savior through serving others was her greatest achievement. She earned her LPN license in 1980 and worked for CoxHealth Medical Center prior to retiring.
She was a tireless volunteer: taking blood pressures, working at the church, caring for diabetics’ toenails, transporting neighbors and friends to/from appointments, walking dogs, comforting and nursing friends during their last days. She selflessly loved and cared for all who came into her life. She was given many angel trinkets by friends, neighbors, and relatives she had cared for, as they saw her as their angel.
Elaine is survived by her children; Roger (Twila) Pfeiffer, Ray (Jeddi) Pfeiffer, William (Diem) Pfeiffer, Barbara (Randolph) Blosch, Gary (Laura) Pfeiffer, Greg (Pam) Pfeiffer; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren; 3 sisters Lois (Lew) Bishop, Mary (Steve) Scharfenburg, Betty (Mike) Hurley; 1 sister-in-law Karen Bergan; 1 brother Don (Mary Ann) Bergan; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents; sister/brother in law Lorna and Howard Landas; brother Bill Bergan; grandson Jacob Smith, and many other treasured friends and relatives.
An Angel Celebration and family visitation will be held at the Villas at Quail Creek, 1505 W. Lark St. Springfield, MO Thursday, August 31, from 2:00 - 5:00 pm (come and go).
A Memorial Mass will be held for Elaine at 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church on Friday, September 1, 2023.
In lieu of flowers the family is suggesting donations to the nonprofit charity, Jake's Cars for Kids (in memory of her grandson, Jacob Smith).P.O. Box 646, Bolivar, MO 65613.
