Obituary for Donnie Eugene Johnson

Donnie Eugene Johnson was born October 5,1967, in Springfield Missouri to loving parents Beatrice A. Webb and Donnie J. Young.

Donnie lived a unique life full of love, laughter and at times hardship that made him who he was. He was known for his enthusiastic spirit, Big Smile, ability to make others laugh and dedication to his family.

He made a major impact on many people’s lives throughout his lifetime because he truly believed in treating friends as if they were family. If Donnie met you just once, he would remember you forever.

Growing up, Donnie attended Hillcrest High school. He was very outgoing and energetic, having a deep love for martial arts, cooking unique food, and creating one-of-a-kind dishes. He had a heart filled with passion for music, especially playing his guitar without a care in the world. Those who knew him best also knew he had a stage name “Donnie Lonnie Lonnie, from the land of milk and honey”. He was a very hard worker learning various types of job skills over the years cooking, landscaping, and sawmill work.

Above all Donnie’s focus always was his family and friends being always there for many.

Donnie is survived by his Beloved Mother, Beatrice Ann Webb, His wife, and the love of his life Wakanda “Candi” Johnson, Brothers Robert L. Beasley (Monica), Tyrone Caton, and Brandon Caton, Two Sisters, Crystal Webb and Tomeka Caton, As well as his sisters in spirit, Tammy Fields and Shonda Walker.

He leaves behind two loving Daughters, Autum and Calece Johnson; Sons, Brice Thomas and Paxton Barnett, Grand Children, Melody Johnson, G’vanni Johnson, Kai Barnett, and Jeremiah Johnson.

He is Preceded in death by his Great Grandfather Percy Beasley, Great Grandmother “Bertie” Beasley, Grandmother, Evealena Juanita Beasley Johnson, Aunt Joyce Beasley, His father Donnie Young, His sister, best friend and Protector Maria Beasley and Niece Mercedes “Bay Bay” Price.

Donnie was a Great Uncle and father figure to many nieces and nephews, Latissa Laddimore, Rocky Fields, Matthew Price, Christopher Trenton, Latasha & Devon Earnhardt, Cryrus White, Tonish Fewell, Darrell Smith, Bradley Smith, and Shonday S. Smith.

A special Thank you and gratitude to Shonday Smith (niece) for caring for Donnie Johnson by being his loving Caregiver throughout his journey.

The family of Donnie Johnson would like to Thank everyone for the kind visits, words, time spent, and stories shared. Donnie will be deeply missed and thought of often. Rest in Peace.

A visitation to honor and remember Donnie “Uncle “Johnson will be held on Tuesday March 5, 2024 at 5:00 -7:00 pm. at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, 500 E. Walnut St., Springfield, Missouri. Funeral Services will also be held at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. The Repass will be to follow.
