Obituary for Don E. Swisher
Don E. Swisher, age 77, left for his heavenly home, on Thursday May 13, 2021, at his home in Springfield, MO. He was surrounded by his wife and family.
He was born July 4, 1943 in Finney County, Garden City , KS.
He was joined in marriage to Marilyn on Feb 14, 1978. They resided in Healy, Kansas for six years where he worked for York Brothers as Farm Manager for twenty-two years. Then they embarked on a new journey and moved to Springfield, Mo. Don received his bachelor’s degree at Central Bible College and his master’s degree from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.
His passion was to spread the word of God. He did so by pastoring in George Town, Arkansas and volunteering at Midtown Recovery. He was member at Galloway Full Gospel for the past thirteen years. Where he was able to apply his gifts that the Lord had given him. He loved his church family and community.
Survivors include his wife of the home; Son - Don Swisher & Michelle of Inman, Kansas; Daughter - Michelle Ann Ruth & Rick of Scott City, Kansas; Daughter - Monica Medford & Don of Burleson, Texas; Stepson - Mike Beasley & Regina of Scott City, Kansas; Stepdaughter - Becky Jumper of Brewster, Kansas; Stepdaughter - Ronda Craven & Brian of Springfield, MO; Sister - Donita Hickman of Stratton, CO; Sixteen Grandchildren and thirteen Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Don & Francis Swisher, brother - Bob Swisher, sister - Pat Brown and Stepson - Tony Beasley & his beloved dog Wilbur.
Rest in peace Don, husband, dad, grandpa & Corky.
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Saturday May 15, 2021 in Galloway Full Gospel Church 3357 W. Farm Road 115 Springfield, MO with Pastor John English officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service in the church.
