Obituary for Deborah Sue Buttram (Rogers)

Deborah Buttram
Dec. 30, 1952 - Aug. 16, 2023

Deborah Buttram, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on August 16, 2023 at the age of 70. Born on December 30, 1952 to James Edward Rogers and Betty Louise Rogers Powders, and raised by stepfather Max Powders. Deborah brought joy and laughter to the lives she touched.

A true family woman, Deborah was a doting mother to her three children, Matthew Strickland with spouse Tammy, Becca Strickland with spouse Andi, and Maggie Buttram with spouse Brandon. Her love for them knew no bounds, and she reveled in the joy and happiness they brought to her life.

Deborah’s love extended to her eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren, whose names she held dear in her heart. She cherished each and every one of them, leaving behind memories and lessons that will forever be treasured by those precious souls.

Working at the renowned Bass Pro Shops, Deborah was able to merge her passion for the outdoors and her charismatic personality for 32 years. She greeted all with a warm smile and shared her knowledge with anyone who crossed her path. Her infectious enthusiasm for nature won the hearts of many, making her a beloved member of the Bass Pro family.

Most people knew her as a small town farm girl, but she lived an extraordinary life. She stood on the sandy shores of Hawaii and saw African skies.

Deborah’s spirit was nothing short of incredible. With a knack for finding the silver lining in every situation, she could turn any frown upside down. Her lighthearted sense of humor and contagious laughter made her a joy to be around. Whether it was sharing jokes or engaging in playful banter, Deborah had a way of brightening even the darkest days.

She was preceded in death by her three parents and daughter, Amy Nicole Strickland.

Deborah’s passing leaves an emptiness in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Yet, her legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering positivity lives on. Let us remember her with smiles and laughter, for that is how she would want to be celebrated. Rest in peace, dear Deborah, as you continue to bring joy to the heavens above.

Celebration of life will be held September 9th 12-3 at The Shrine Club in Buffalo, MO. Come help us celebrate the life of an amazing woman.
