Obituary for Charles Joseph Dailey

Charles J Dailey passed away at Brookhaven Nursing Home on Oct.29, 2019. He had been bravely battling Dementia for many years. He was 77 years old. Charles was born to Irish Catholic parents on Nov. 25, 1941 in Springfield, Mo. He was the first child of Charles and Helen Dailey of 528 E Catalpa St., Springfield, Mo.

He is survived by a brother Mike Dailey of Springfield and a cousin Cathy Slatinsky also of Springfield and numerous other cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother William Dailey.

Charles attended St. Agnes and Parkview High School. After graduating from High School, he studied electronics at Vocational Technical School here in Springfield. He then embarked upon a career as an electronics repairman. Charles became interested in HAM Radio as a young man, and he continued to be active in HAM Radio for the remainder of his life. He "k0eod" was an active member of SMARC Radio Club. He also enjoyed bicycling and took many treks through out the Ozarks. He was an active and respected member of the community participating in the Neighborhood Watch Program and other civic activities. He loved animals especially his beloved dog "Oreo". Charles made friends easily because of his outgoing friendly nature. He was kind hearted never turning anyone in need away. He unselfishly helped many people with their problems. He is also survived by his long time companion of nearly 40 yrs.
