Obituary for Brenda Leah Barrett

Brenda Leah Barrett, inspired Optometric Technician, died Saturday, March 18th, 2023, at 6:10 PM. She was sixty-two years old. Passionate and softspoken, Brenda lived her life enthusiastically, loving deep and laughing hard. She had an endless amount of compassion for animals and life. Brenda was born July 7, 1960, in Herington, Kansas and grew up in Woodbine. She graduated from Hope High School in 1979. Brenda pursued her education at Brown Mackie College and continued her education throughout her career in Optometry.

Brenda was wed January 7, 1980, in Slaton, Texas to Abel Peña. They were full of love and craved adventures. Once married they traveled to Germany, where they both lived for a year and a half. Brenda is survived by her mother, Joanna June Stammers, Son, Christopher Adam, and two daughters, Stasha Joann and Rachel Dawn. She is also survived by her Grandson, Paul Wilson Akers IV. Brenda is preceded in death by her father, Walter Barrett.

A Memorial Service will be held at Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, located at 500 E. Walnut Street in Springfield, Missouri on Saturday, April 15th, at 2PM. Donations are accepted through the website, GoFundMe (https://gofund.me/ ec353607).
