Obituary for Austin Skyler Mandel Bond

Austin Skyler Mandel Bond (1991-2023)
Austin was born June 9, 1991, in Springfield, Missouri to Anthony Bond and Evelyn Faye Tunnell. The Bond family was a unique version of the Brady Bunch with Tonys's two boys, Anthony "Tee" and Rachien; and Faye's two kids, Ryan and Cara; and their two together, Austin and Alexis. There was never a dull moment in the Bond family home, but there was always lots of love.

Austin attended Parkview High School and was interested in music, skateboarding and basketball. Growing up and later in life he was always surrounded by many friends who were practically family. He was rarely seen without his best friends/brothers Gunnar Cyr and Zach Hutton along with little sister Alexis, who was more than close to him, more like knit together with unconditional love.

He was a family man and incredibly devoted to his children: daughters Lilliana and Layla; and stepsons Delante Worsham & Keshawn Close, whom he shared with his long-time companion, Lacey Close. He was thrilled when his son Austin Skyler Bond Jr. was born with his new love, Riley Bronson. He loved spending time with his kids, nieces and nephews, even his friend’s children. His family considered him the glue that held his family together.

He had the best heart and cared for everyone that crossed his path.
He was known for his infectious smile, magnetic personality, and his ability to bring people closer together. After becoming a believer last year, he helped start the Christian ministry "The Kingdom of God" and believed in the vision with his whole heart.

As an adult, Austin owned an auto business and was a car enthusiast. He was an avid collector, like his father, and especially loved collecting cars (full size and smaller Hot Wheels). Two of his favorite collections were Oldsmobile Cutlasses and Jordan sneakers.

Austin went to be with his Heavenly Father surrounded by his loving family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving father, Anthony Bond of Detroit, MI; his brothers, Rachien Bond of Springfield, MO and Ryan Tunnell of Springfield, MO; sisters, Cara Tunnell of Springfield, MO and Alexis Ferrer of Springfield, MO; daughters Lilliana Bond, Layla Bond; Stepsons, Delante Worsham and Keshawn Close and their mother Lacey Close; his son, Austin Skyler Bond Jr. and his mother Riley Bronson all of Springfield, MO; as well as nieces and nephews, Cameron, Noah, Isabella, Theo, Elijah, Josiah, Aliyah, Teeyanah and Annalayah; and an abundance of friends who will miss him dearly. Austin was preceded in death by his mother Evelyn "Faye" Bond and his brother Anthony "Tee" Bond Jr.
