Obituary for Angela Lynn Ferris

Angela Lynn Ferris, age 64, passed away at home in Springfield on February 1, 2021 following a sudden heart ailment.

She was born April 25, 1956 in Pueblo, Colorado to Robert and Roberta Arriaga, and was later raised by grandparents Joseph and Angelina Aguilar. She attended schools in Pueblo, graduating from Central High School in 1974, and attended Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado. Angela and her husband Ed were married in Golden, Colorado on April 18, 1987 and have resided in Springfield for the past eight years. Angela and Ed lived in several states across the western, midwest and southern portions of the Country during Ed’s railroad career, with Angela leaving behind life-long friends in each of those locations.

Angela was short in stature, not quite 5 feet tall, but had a huge heart and personality to match- she never met a stranger, and won people over quickly with kindness, generosity and her enthusiasm for life. She loved animals and people- most especially children and senior citizens. Angela loved the mountains, where she and Ed have maintained a summer home for many years in south central Colorado, near the small mountain town of San Isabel.

Angela was preceded in death by her former husband Clifford Colwell, her brother Ernie Joe Lucero and grandparents Joe and Angie Aguilar.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Ed Ferris, her mother Roberta (Ernie Sr.) Lucero and sister Leslie (Gary) Pryor of Pueblo, CO, son Joseph (Megan) Ferris of Memphis, Tennessee, daughters Elena (Nathan) Cardoza of Springfield and Sarah (Pace) Hartfield of Coeur d”Alene, ID and seven grandchildren.

Celebration of Life services were held in Springfield and Pueblo, Colorado. Care and arrangements were under the direction of Herman H. Lohmeyer Funeral Home, Springfield, MO.
