Obituary for Anna Lee Ward (Rogers)

Anna Lee Ward affectionately known to her family as “Aunt Butch” went to be with our Heavenly Father 3 April, 2014 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She is welcomed to her heavenly home by her husband, brothers, Leo Rogers and his wife Aileen, Al Rogers, his wife Loretta, and brother in law Lee Jackson.

She was married to her childhood sweetheart, Howard E. Ward for 61 years. A blessing to those who knew her, she was devoted to caring for her family and had a love of gardening. Throughout her life she retained memberships in the Eastern Star Chapter 8 from 1965 to present and the American Legion Auxillary, Post 676 from 1987 to present.

She is survived by a brother J.E. Rogers and wife Virginia of Clever, Missouri and a sister, Emma Jean Jackson of Navasota, Texas as well as a host of nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

While with us she taught us to use our time on earth wisely making sure those we care about know just how much they are truly loved.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2014 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel, 500 East Walnut Street, Springfield with burial in Hazelwood cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2014 in the funeral Home.
