Obituary for Sally Vivian Plank (Vincent)

Sally Vivian  Plank (Vincent)
Sally Vivian Plank, 82, a longtime resident of Springfield, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Cox South on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2018.

Sally was born on June 11, 1935, to Vivian and Frank Vincent, in Camdenton, Missouri. Both of her parents and brothers Ralph and Bill preceded her in death.

Sally attended Springfield Senior High School (Central) and graduated from Drury College (University) with a B.S. degree in physical education, and minor in fine arts. Sally was a school teacher, homemaker, and later certified as an Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor in Colorado and worked for several years at Charlotte Treatment Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. As a painter, she spent a year on scaffolding painting gilded gold and restoring the altar of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Springfield.

Survivors are Jim Vincent, brother, Odessa, Florida; Sons Ralph Plank, and wife Paula Ringer, Springfield; Mark Plank, Ft. Worth, Texas and Stewart Plank, Ozark. Additional survivors are grandchildren Justin Plank and wife Ashley, Rachel Plank, and great-granddaughter, Acey Mae Plank, plus many additional beloved relatives and friends.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Friends of Timmons Temple Fund at Community Foundation of the Ozarks.

Funeral services will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1115 N Campbell, in Springfield on Saturday, February 17, 1:30pm with Father Denis Dougherty O.S.B. and Father Fergus Monaghan, celebrating. Visitation will be at the church from 12:30 – 1:30pm before the service. Interment will be at White Chapel Cemetery, 5234 W. State Hwy EE at 2:30pm on Monday, February 19.
