Obituary for Margaret Sue Fox (Horning)

Mrs. Margaret Sue Fox (née Horning), of Marshfield, MO, passed away in her home on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the age of 77.

Margaret was born to parents Charles and Regina Horning on June 15, 1940 in Springfield, MO. She grew up as the younger of two daughters and graduated from Central High School. Margaret was a homemaker and loving mother of two sons. She loved talking to her sister Mary every day and was an avid reader of novels. She watched her favorite soap opera, Days of Our Lives, daily since its beginning in 1965. She also enjoyed watching her beloved St. Louis Cardinals play baseball and was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan up until her favorite driver, Rusty Wallace, retired from racing. Margaret also had a not-so-secret crush on country music singer Alan Jackson.

Margaret is survived by her son Jeff Burk and wife Rene of Fairfax, VA; Steve Burk and his wife Melisa of Springfield, MO; her sister, Mary Warren of Pontiac, MI; and one step-grandchild, Blake Haley. She also remained very close to her cousin Anne Ellison Johnston of Ducanville, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Regina.

Committal service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday July 18, 2017 in St. Mary's Cemetery 2400 W. Mt. Vernon Street in Springfield, Missouri with Deacon Bill Keller officiating.
