Obituary for Allen Lee Rogers

Allen Lee  Rogers
Allen Lee Rogers, 57, of Springfield was born June 1, 1960, and passed away June 5, 2017 of natural causes.

Allen attended Kickapoo High and went on to pursue a career in the flooring industry. He became a wonderful Tile Setter and has installed tile in several well-known venues nationwide.

At a young age, Allen began playing the drums and took lessons to master his art. As a result, Allen became a seasoned drummer and had many opportunities in the entertainment field. Allen made TV appearances displaying his drumming talents and played the drums and traveled with several famous artists, and was the Praise and Worship Team drummer in a large successful church.

Allen was a Table Rock Lake fan and would go fishing anytime he could. He also loved music and jamming with his siblings. Allen was a KC Chiefs fan, Mexican food fan, and loved to make people laugh.

Allen had a tender heart, full of compassion, love and forgiveness towards others. He always chose to believe in the good of a person and look past the bad.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Bob & Linda Rogers (Garrison); his brother, Gerry Rogers; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Allen is survived by his wife, Cherie Velez; son, Brandon Rogers and future daughter-in-law, Samantha; stepson, Ricky Lehmann; stepdaughter, Cayla Velez; granddaughter, “JJ”; granddaughter-to-be born in August; brother, Kerry & Gina Rogers; sister, Dannetta & Mike Hagewood; brother, Greg Rogers; sister, Gayla Rogers; sister, Darenda Crawford; nephews, nieces, and lots of family, friends, and last but not least, Tuttles, his dog.

A Celebration of Life will be 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2017, at Bairs in Republic, MO, 1644 Highway 60. A Memorial Graveside Service will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 10 at Clear Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his son, Brandon Rogers.
