Obituary for Frankie A. "Frank" Floyd

Frank Floyd, 68, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at home surrounded by friends and family. He was born on August 7, 1948, in Wheatland, Missouri, to Noah Floyd and Jewell (Wyatt) Floyd. He attended grade school and high school in Wheatland. He graduated from Southwest Baptist University with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business and began working for the State of Missouri in 1970. He began working for the Missouri Department of Social Services in 1974. He worked his way up until he became the County Director in Christian County, and after that he was promoted to County Director V in Greene County Missouri. After nearly 33 years of service to the State of Missouri, Frank retired in 2003.
He married Leah “Carol” Derrick on October 31, 1976, in Springfield, Missouri. They celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife, Carol; his daughter, Megan Rolloos and her husband, Jeromy, of Nixa, Missouri; and his brother, Fred Floyd and his wife, Jeannie, of Osceola, Missouri.
Frank loved gardening, traveling, and collecting, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Frank and his family want to thank Visiting Angels for providing home care aides, especially Tammy Holley, who became a wonderful friend to the family while providing excellent and devoted home care to Frank. His family would also like to thank Mercy Hospice for their compassionate care, especially to nurse “Dee” Dietzman.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 1, 2017, from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Herman Lohmeyer Funeral Home. A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017, at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He will be interred at Resurrection Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
