Bernadine Rae  Crews (Haworth)
Bernadine “Bunny” Rae Haworth Crews passed away in her home at the age of 87, on Sunday, September 25, 2016. She was born December 23, 1928, to Alvin W. and Violet Rebecca Mason Haworth in Neosho, Mo. Bernadine married Ronald E. Crews on October 16, 1948. Ron passed away on January 6, 2008. Bernadine remained by his side always, supporting and encouraging him throughout a long illness.
Bernadine was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved sister Betty Neumann, and many other dear family members and friends.
She is immediately survived by her children: David Crews and his wife Gail, Walnut Grove, MO; Rhonda Wilson and husband David, Carthage, MO; and Jenny Crews of Springfield, MO; Bernadine is also survived by other family members, including her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; each and every one of them were very special to her and each one very much loved.
Bernadine graduated from Neosho High School and loved going back to visit her hometown where she had attended nurse’s training. She was indeed a thoughtful and very dear friend to many. She was especially keen on remembering and recognizing everyone’s birthdays and special occasions. She enjoyed genealogy, reading, gardening and spending time with all of her loved ones. In short, she had a kind word, sweet smile and hug for everyone in her life. She was so loved and will be so greatly missed.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 30, 2016 in Herman H. Lohmeyer Chapel, 500 E. Walnut Street. The family wishes to thank Mercy Hospice for their compassion, care and kindness. In lieu of flowers, please send any donations to Mercy Hospice.
