Matthew Samuel Metz, 30, of Springfield, MO passed away suddenly on July 8th, 2016. He was born December 28th, 1985 in St. Louis, MO to Louis Joseph and Mary Catherine Metz (Bunn). He was preceded in death by his parents.

Matthew spent countless hours exploring and enjoying the outdoors. He took pleasure in so many of the simple things - a morning cup of coffee, a flower found on the trail, an impeccable spotify playlist. He was an amazingly supportive brother, a fun-loving uncle, always playing with his nieces and nephews. Matt was a great friend to so many. He was astutely aware of others feelings and had the kindest heart. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the National Parks Department in honor of Matt.

Herman H Lohmeyer funeral home is handling the services for Matthew. There is a graveside service at Maple Park Cemetery at 4pm on Saturday, July 16th. Following is a reception for friends and family at his sister's home in Springfield.
